Swiss bread dish

Ingredients (4 persons)

6 slices Waldkorn®
3 tbsp olive oil
2 onions, cut into rings
1 leek, cut into rings
200 ml cream
  freshly ground salt, pepper
  nutmeg
3 vine tomatoes, cut into wedges
200 g grated cheese (Gruyère and Emmentaler, for example)
2 tbsp of basic, finely chopped

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan and gently sauté the onion and leek in about 4 minutes. Stir in half the cream and add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. Cut the slices of bread in half. Shingle the slices of bread in a low, greased oven dish with some of the leek and onion mixture, tomato wedges, grated cheese and basil between all the slices. Sprinkle with the remaining basil and grated cheese and drizzle with the remaining cream. Bake for about 20 to 30 minutes until piping hot and golden brown.
